New Hiring Authority for Military Spouses Announced: New federal government hiring regulations allow for the noncompetitive appointment of military spouses to federal civil service positions. The intended effect of this new hiring authority is to facilitate the entry of military spouses into the federal government as part of an ongoing effort to recruit and retain skilled and experienced members of the civilian armed forces.
