Summer Meals and Menu for Children of All Ages!
Camp Grandpa! It is July on our calendar and fireworks are getting to explode in my heart as the grands are getting ready to arrive. Activities are on Grandpa’s plate. Their hunger for adventure, outdoors, hammering, mud and total movement are insatiable. Therefore, Grandma is getting ready to find some ‘fuels’ that are kid appropriate: lunches and dinners. We have a bread lover, a meat on bone lover, a thick steak fan, and one who isn’t too certain what is the best… well ice cream is there, but not on my meal plan! The secret plan that Grandpa and I have is to keep them so active and involved that…

Does a Better Burger have to be Bigger?
Company is coming… short notice. Time to dig into the freezer and see what the storehouse holds. Yeah for ground chuck, ground round, 93% lean beef – Hamburgers! Folks are hungry… it’s raining/snowing/ugly outside. Therefore, the grill outside is out of the question. Pull out the large frying pan and with 2 T. of olive oil, saute 2 onions sliced thin. As you take a bite, do you wonder what is in this sauce, or what was the marinade? I do that . I love to cook. I love to read recipe books. I love to browse in Williams Sonoma stores. I am a great chef. Well, maybe not the last statement… but my family loves my cooking – NICE. That is a 5 star rating right there. Last weekend we went to Selfridge ANGB, located north of Detroit. There is…

It’s Snowing… Again…
I LOVE the snow any time between November and January. My boys and I can be out there for hours sledding, making snow-angels and -men, and just having a great time. But come February it starts to get really old. Well, it’s March 7 and we got 2 inches of snow this morning on top of what we got yesterday. My husband came home after a long day at work and the first words out of my mouth were: “Take them before I eat them.” (The old adage about spiders eating their young kept rattling around in my mind.) The kids are starting to get cabin fever and I’m starting…
