Resolutions for the New Year
It is snowing outside the window… 33 degrees wet heavy snow. It is sticking and beautiful and white against the dark tree limbs. I love the look. I love the feel of it all. New Year’s Eve is right at the door step. 2012 is almost tangible. Time to think of improvements, self, household, work and community.
Resolving to put energy, time and resources toward good. I have a list! Children in the neighborhood need smiles, someone to look them in the eye and listen to their excitement. My avenue is Wednesday nights: Pioneer Club. This new year the resolve will be to get them to bring more friends, get more helpers, be excited right back at ’em!
I recognize that health is not a sit back and watch issue. This Grandma-chick is going to get the feet moving not only staying up with the grands, and puppies, but walking the land. My gardens will be more weed free, flowers will be smelled, cut and enjoyed. Our vegetable garden will be gleaned and thinned… just like me!
Cookbooks will be tagged and notes applied as to changes, comments and complimentary side dishes. My year is going to be jam packed! Those canning jars downstairs will once again be filled and dark green, red and orange color will line the shelves in the larder.
Just like that snow that covers all the fallen leaves, fills the view, chills and excites the child within, so New Years Resolutions fill our minds, cover up the mundane. Stretch your imagination, grab a calendar and fill in ideas of what you CAN do! It is exciting to see capabilities and expectations on paper. A fun read and motivational read written by someone who really knows you: YOU.
