Daffodil therapy
Daffodils. Great name for a flower I think. Something daffy is well, happy, a childhood memory made tangible and moments without pressure: pure frivolity. Prior to when Dale retired from the USAF, I went into a panic mode. What in the weeda world (a Norwegian expression from my fabulous grandmother) were we going to be doing? Morel Mushroom Mania
We are having the most beautiful spring season that I can remember! The front yard is painted with pastels and lavender. Red bud trees (which are covered in pink-purple… don’t you think the powers that be would have picked a purple name?) are out in bloom. Daffodils are still up and tulips have spotted the our gardens with deep dark red. It is just gorgeous out there! As we walked and took in the palate of colors and the scents of the blooms, we spotted in the grass a gazillion morels! Spring Has Sprung
My Crocuses are in bloom. My Tulips are peaking out of the ground. My Daffodils are waking up from a long winter’s nap. The Hyacinth is getting ready to let out a giant stretch and a yawn of color. I love this weather! I have trimmed (aka whacked down) butter-fly bushes. I have cut dead flowers & branches off of last years plants. I have pulled plants I just don’t want anymore. I have thought through what flowers I want to plant this year. I started seeds inside. Life is a ray of sunshine right now! Last year it snowed in April. I hate to be the pessimist. But if…
